Only the top 1% of sustainable products can make it into the Futureshop search engine.
Give good stuff a second chance. This is the best thing that you can do, and it counts the highest in our sustainability ratings.
Naturally sustainable materials make more with less and then gently recycle back into the ecosystem. Some natural fibers, like hemp or tencel, can be made with fewer resources. Some, like bamboo, regenerate very quickly. Certifications like organic or Fair Trade show that materials were sourced to minimize negetive impacts.
Supporting recycled materials supports recycling. Want more recycling? Buy products made with recycled materials. It's not always the best, but it's usually better.
The manufacturing process matters. In the manufacturing process, brands can choose to use less energy, use renewable energy, treat workers fairly, and recycle wastewater. When brands do these things, we give them credit for going above and beyond and doing the right thing.
